PLUMCOT plum-apricot hybrid

PLUMCOT combines the flavours of plum and apricot. The skin is not sour like that of many plums. The fruit has a bright, rich sweetness without the bitter, astringent aftertaste sometimes found in plums. Fully ripe fruit has violet-red skin with a bloom and dark red flesh. The stone is small and separates easily. Suitable fresh and for jam, juice and desserts. Ripens in August-September.

Self-pollinating variety. Begins fruiting 2-3 years after planting. The tree is medium-sized and the variety is resistant to disease and frost. Two-year-old seedling, recently planted in a pot.
