Sweet Cherry 'CARMEN'

An early sweet cherry variety. The berries ripen in mid-July. The berries are very attractive, dark red, large (10–13 g), sweet and dessert-like, and suitable for transport. The skin is bright red, later turning black; it is of medium firmness, and the flesh is dark red. The tree bears abundantly and regularly. The stone is medium-sized and comes away easily. The berries are eaten fresh as a dessert and are also suitable for processing, especially for compotes and freezing. The variety is winter-hardy and disease-resistant.

Two-year-old plant, dug from the ground, 150 cm tall.
