Description:
'Meteor' is an early and very hardy sour cherry-sweet cherry hybrid, valued for its productivity and excellent-tasting fruit. The tree grows to a medium size and is compact, making it ideal for smaller gardens and homesteads.

Fruit:
The berries are large, dark red, juicy, sweet and pleasantly sweet-and-sour, with a pleasant aroma. Suitable for eating fresh and for processing into jams, compotes or juice. The fruit does not crack, even during rainy summer periods.

Fruiting:
'Meteor' begins bearing early, just 2–3 years after planting. The crop is abundant and regular. The fruit ripens in early July, making this one of the earliest hybrids.

Hardiness:
The variety has good winter hardiness and resistance to fungal diseases. Suitable for growing in various regions of Lithuania. The flowers are reasonably resistant to spring frosts.

Pollination:
Partially self-fertile, but planting other sour or sweet cherry varieties nearby is recommended for a larger crop.

Growing requirements:
Grows best in a sunny location, in light, fertile, moderately moist soil. It is an excellent choice for those who want to combine the hardiness of a sour cherry with the flavour of a sweet cherry.
