Summer pear VASARINĖ SVIESTINĖ

A summer pear variety whose fruit ripens at the end of August and is eaten for 2-3 weeks.

The fruit is attractive, greenish-yellow and flushed in the sun. It is large or very large, 200-250 g, with an irregular broad pear shape. The flesh is yellowish-white, melting, very juicy, sweet and tasty.

The trees are vigorous, with broad, pyramidal, moderately dense crowns. They begin fruiting in the sixth year.

The variety is productive, though it may bear in alternate years. It is winter-hardy and resistant to scab, but not very resistant to brown fruit rot. It grows well in fertile loam and sandy loam soils and prefers a drier location.
