Summer apple tree PIROS

Piros is an early, productive summer apple variety. The tree is low-growing and very resistant to frost and disease. The apples are tasty, sweet-and-sour and juicy.

Tree: pyramid-shaped crown, growing to 2-2.5 m.

Fruit: greenish-yellow skin with red stripes; medium-sized apples with juicy, crisp, firm flesh and a sweet-and-sour taste. Suitable fresh, for juice, processing and drying.

Fruiting: begins in the second or third year after planting.

Soil: sunny location with slightly moist, fertile, well-drained loam.

Picking time: August.

Hardiness: resistant to frost, scab and powdery mildew.

From early spring through May, the seedling is supplied bare-root. If ordered from June to October, it arrives in a pot.
