Winter apple tree GLOSTER

Winter apple variety. The fruit is picked at the end of the first ten days of October or in the second half of October and keeps until May or longer. The apples are large or very large and conical, with yellowish-green skin almost entirely covered by a diffuse dark red blush. The flesh is greenish-white, juicy and good-tasting. The trees are very vigorous, begin fruiting early and are winter-hardy.

Variety: winter, cross-pollinating, from New Zealand.

Tree: medium-sized with a broad conical crown.

Fruit: large apples with a bright red blush, firm juicy flesh and a pleasant sweet-and-sour taste. Stores until May.

Fruiting: begins in the second or third year after planting and occurs every year.

Soil: sandy loam that is permeable to moisture.

Picking time: the second half of October.

Hardiness: highly frost-hardy and sufficiently resistant to scab.
