Autumn apple tree AUKSIS

Auksis is one of the most popular and valuable Lithuanian apple varieties, bred in Lithuania and well adapted to our climate. It is valued for its distinctive taste, good keeping quality and steady harvest, making it a common choice for both home gardens and professional orchards.

Fruit is medium-sized to large, round and regular in shape. The skin is yellow-green and develops a reddish colour on the sunny side. The flesh is light, very juicy and crisp, with a balanced sweet-and-sour taste. The apples are suitable for fresh eating, desserts, juice and storage.

Fruiting is regular and abundant. The fruit is picked at the end of September or the beginning of October, reaches eating ripeness after several weeks and, when stored properly, keeps until January or February.

Tree is medium-sized and forms a broad, moderately open crown. It starts fruiting early, flowers moderately early and pollinates well with other apple varieties.

Growing requirements

• Prefers a sunny, sheltered location
• Grows best in fertile, well-drained soil
• Frost-hardy and suitable for the Lithuanian climate
• Regular crown-training maintenance is recommended
